Student Storytelling Opportunity

filmmaking-intensive-web_0.jpgJoin us for 3 exciting sessions of storytelling at the Swain Arts Center! 

Each Saturday session will be faciliated by Joe Holt (*) and will allow students to write, record, edit, and produce a unique film project while also learning about career opportunities in the film industry.

Each Saturday session will run 8M-5:00PM daily.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided. 

This opportunity is open to students of Swain and Graham Counties.  Please complete the registration form online, and print and sign the release prior to the Saturday session.  Signed releases must be turned in to your GEAR UP Coordinator in advance of the day of each project.

* Joe Holt has worked in the film and television industry for 30 years. He has worked in New York, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Dallas and Miami on a broad spectrum of projects including feature films, television game shows, music videos and commercials. He is currently employed by Swain County Schools as the resident media production expert and administers the Maroon Devils Network. He is the founder of the Swain High Cinema Club and mentors high school seniors through Swain’s CTE  internship program for the Maroon Devils Network.
