The GEAR UP NC Appalachian Partnership has partnered with the Center for Entrepreneurship at Appalachian State University to create a unique combination of student programming focused on building the next generation of college educated entrepreneurs in Western NC.
Research shows that college graduates would return home but face barriers due to low employment opportunitites . Given this information, GEAR UP Appalachian made it part of its mission to be dedicated to providing our students with as many opportunities as possible once they graduate from high school. We also understand that the local communities within the Appalachian Region are reliant on small businesses and entrepreneurs for future economic development.
That is why we feel entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial education is so important: our students are the next economic engines for their local communities. Therefore, we want to provide the educators within our local communities the resources they need to pass along the entrepreneurial spirit! The resouces provided are adaptable to your needs.
